A rare piece from Chanel Fall 1988, created just five years after Karl Lagerfeld began his legendary tenure at the maison. This jacket was immortalized in the season’s advertising campaign on Lagerfeld’s muse Inès de la Fressange, making it a true icon of the era.
Crafted in dark navy wool tweed with a soft, cardigan-like drape, it’s framed with contrasting trim and finished with gold-plated CC logo buttons across a double-breasted front and at the cuffs. We especially love the cuff buttons — a chic and sophisticated detail that elevates the piece far beyond a simple knit cardigan.
Fully lined in silk, with three functional pockets, this jacket is over 30 years old yet feels endlessly modern — a piece of Chanel history as wearable today as it was in 1988.
Size: Size label removed, comfortable fits sizes FR38 and FR40.
Condition: The exterior remains in very good condition, showing only light overall wear with a beautiful patina on the CC buttons. The silk lining is also in very good condition, with moderate wear, moderate wear along the armhole seams.
