We are beyond excited to offer this stunning piece from the Haute Couture Spring 1986 collection. With over 130 hours of handwork, this piece features intricately embellished trims created in Atelier Lesage - one of Chanel's many satellite workshops, where haute couture pieces are skillfully embroidered by hand.
When you look at the photos on the model, you will see how this piece looks under a variety of lighting. The crystals resemble a jewelry store, shining bright like diamonds on the black wool fabric. Very special attention is given to the buttons - they resemble an owl - one of the symbols of the House of Chanel. Each is decorated with a crystal in every eye. The four front pockets are slanted, lined in silk, and decorated with hand-embellished trim. The shoulders are padded, which is in line with 1980s fashion. If desired, the padding can be easily and quickly removed by a skilled seamstress. This piece features the trademark chain at the hem to weigh the jacket down for a perfect fit.
As with every haute couture item, this jacket has its serial number stamped under the label. A number is given to every haute-couture item, even if it comes in a set (e.g. a skirt and a jacket suit will have their unique numbers). There are fewer haute couture customers every year, it is a unique and rare opportunity to own a true Chanel masterpiece designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

Size: size label is not available for haute-couture pieces because they are cut to the customer's measurements. This piece fits like a FR36 based on bust measurements.

Condition: jacket exterior in very good condition. Occasional light wear to the paint on the tiny beads. Very insignificant and looks natural. Lining in like-new condition. 

Fabric composition: fabric label not available, feels like 100% wool.

Measurements taken flat: back length 25 in / 63 1/2 cm; shoulder width 17 in / 43 cm; sleeve length 20 in/ 51 cm, waist 15 1/2 in / 39 cm; bust 16 in / 40 1/2 cm; arm opening 9 1/2 in / 24 cm

Model's measurements: Our model Hailey is 180 cm / 5'11" ft tall. Her measurements are: bust 30 in / 76 cm, waist 27 in / 68 1/2 cm, hips are 35 in / 89 cm.

MAKING SURE IT’S AUTHENTIC 
When we locate the right jacket our work with it just begins. Before each item becomes available for purchase, we authenticate every jacket to make sure you only get the genuine article. If we have any questions about a jacket’s origin, we work closely with Real Authenticators, a luxury authentication service, to ensure that you purchase 100% original Chanel jackets.

 

BRINGING THE BEAUTY BACK
After the jacket has been authenticated, we work our magic to bring the item back to its original glory. Many of the timeless jackets we source were created from anywhere between the 60’s to the 00’s, including one of a kind haute-couture pieces. The jackets carried the stories of the amazing women who wore them and now need a little extra love and care. We condition the jackets, repair when needed, and remove any imperfections by hand during an elaborative and time consuming process. If any buttons are missing, we take the time to source hard to find original vintage buttons, which can take up to months to secure.

Last but not least, we meticulously measure each jacket to understand both its form and fit. This helps us provide you with comprehensive descriptions of every collectible Chanel jacket in our store. At the same time, we take detailed images so you can easily see the condition and features of the rare design. Finally, we choose just the right moment for the big reveal, to show you our latest precious treasures ready to travel to their new homes.
